Integrations

Integrations, under Building blocks in the device menu, sets up the VLANs, objects, rules and NAT a vendor or a kind of network needs, and keeps them linked so they can all be removed together. That link is the difference from building the same thing by hand.

To pick one, see Choosing an integration.

Creating one

  1. In Available integrations, click the one you want.
  2. Give it a Config name. This name heads its rules on Security policy, so several networks made from one integration stay distinguishable.
  3. Fill in its fields.
  4. Read What will be created: the full plan, grouped as Interfaces, Network objects, Services, Schedules, Firewall rules, NAT rules, Routes, DHCP servers, Device settings, Published on the internet and VPN tunnels. Until the required fields are filled it says Fill in the required fields to see the full plan.
  5. Click Create config.

The page then shows {name} created with what was added. Like any edit, it reaches the device only when you Apply Changes and Confirm.

An unresolved parameter is refused

If a field is still unresolved, the plan contains a placeholder such as {{subnet}}. Saving is refused, and the message names the field and the literal text the device would otherwise have received.

What is installed

Installed on this device lists each integration with its Name, Wizard and Objects created. With none, it says No integration on this gateway yet.

Each row shows whether what is on the device still matches what the integration created:

State Meaning
In sync Everything matches
Drifted ยท {missing} missing, {changed} changed Something it created was removed or edited. Click it to see what.
Partly checked What could be compared matches, but some settings could not be checked
Not checked What it should look like cannot be worked out, so it is not reported as correct

Running the integration again with the same answers puts a drifted one back.

Its objects also appear on Security policy and Network objects, grouped under the config name.

Detaching

Detach breaks the link and leaves everything in place. The objects become ordinary ones you edit like any other, and the row leaves Installed on this device. Use it when an integration got you most of the way and you want to finish by hand.

The firewall section header offers the same action as Unmanage.

Removing

Delete asks Remove this config? and lists what goes with it: This will remove the {count} objects it created. To keep the objects, Detach instead.
